Hempton Tower Mill

Hempton tower mill was a seven stories tall and built in 1833 for John Jarratt. The large tower had a Norfolk boat shaped cap with a petticoat and held a 6 bladed fan and a gallery.

The mill stopped working in 1918 and the sails were removed not long after that. The tower was used as a store but demolished at the beginning of the second world war. The mill was still on the pre-war (1939 Ordinance Survey map), seems to be on a 1946 map but certainly not present on the 1950 map.
